Privacy Policy

Effective Date: December 1, 2017

KEYCO is designed to make life easier and less stressful. This policy describes what information we collect from you and how we use it to accomplish that mission.

We take your privacy as seriously as you do, and because of that we take great care to collect only the information necessary to provide you with the best possible KEYCO experience.

As you review our policy, keep in mind that it applies to SOLUM LTD. and SOLUM AMERICA INC. ’s (“SOLUM”, “We”, “Us”) website, mobile app, help center, and all other associated services that we provide (“Services”).

1. Information KEYCO Collects

In this Privacy Policy, the term "Personal Information" means any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person; an identifiable person is one who can be identified, directly or indirectly, in particular by reference to a name, an identification number, or, in certain circumstances, location information, an IP address or the unique identifier allocated to each KEYCO device. Specifically, we collect the following information from you, which may include Personal Information.

A. Placing an order

i. Contact Information

When you place an order on our website, you’ll need to provide an email address, a first and last name, and a shipping address.

ii. Payment Information

In order to complete your order on our website, you’ll need to provide payment information, such as your credit card or PayPal account. This information is needed in order to process your order and is not stored on our servers.

B. Registering for the mobile app

You’ll need to use a valid email address and create a password to create an account for Services on the KEYCO app. You can choose whether or not you’d like to provide your first and last name. We do not identify you personally to other users or make your account information available to any third parties in any way that could identify you without your prior consent.

C. Connecting with Social Networks

When you create a KEYCO account, you may be able to connect and interact with a third-party social networking service (“Social Network”), such as Facebook, Google or Twitter. If you decide to interact with a Social Network when using our Services, we are permitted to collect Personal Information that you have already made public on your Social Network account. You can manage this information in the privacy settings of each Social Network.

D. Information from Your Use of the Services

i. KEYCO ID, Name, and Photograph

When you activate KEYCO using the KEYCO app, that KEYCO’s unique identifier (or KEYCO ID) will be associated with your account. If you choose to name your KEYCO or add a photo of it, this information will also be associated with your account.

ii. Location Information

KEYCO is designed to tell you where your items are. In order to do that, it’s necessary to collect data about your location. We use the term “Location Information” to refer to the combined location data of your phone or device, and your KEYCOs.

While the app is running on your device, it periodically transmits your location information. This allows us to show you, on your map, the last place your KEYCO was seen by your device. It is one of the primary ways KEYCO helps you find your lost items.

We may also collect and update location information for your KEYCO(s) anonymously from other KEYCO users who are running the app within Bluetooth range of your device. We do this to provide you with the most recent and accurate location of your KEYCOs, even if they are out of your devices’ Bluetooth range.

The location information associated with your KEYCO(s) is never made available to these users.

If you use a computer, phone, or other device to visit our website or help center, we use the IP address of that computer or device to determine an approximate location. We do this so that we can provide you with a better, more-personal customer service experience.

We use your Location Information to provide the Services and may use your Location Information to promote the Services or provide you with offers. However, your Location Information is never shared with other users unless you choose to share it through our Services.

iii. Mobile Application Usage Information

We track how, and how often you use our Services. We also collect certain information that your mobile device sends when you use them for Services. This includes information such as your device’s model, operating system type and version, and the dates and times of your requests. We use this information to provide you with optimal services and support, and to collect anonymous statistics that help us understand our user base.

E. Information Collected Through KEYCO’s Support Services

We provide support services via email request submissions and direct email. We collect any Personal Information you may choose to provide to our customer care team in the process. This includes, but is not limited to: your name, email address, phone number, and mailing address. We may use and process your Personal Information, including location information, to handle your support request and provide you with the best support possible.

2. Cookies and Other Web Technologies

A. Cookies

Cookies are small text files that are placed on your computer’s hard drive or onto your mobile device’s memory -- if your browser is set to accept cookies. Like many other online services, cookies and other tools like them help us collect and understand how you use our services. Although most internet browsers automatically accept cookies, you can change your settings or use third party tools to prompt you before accepting cookies from the websites you choose to visit, or to refuse cookies altogether. You can even delete them through your browser. Most browsers also have settings to prevent them from accepting new cookies, to notify you when you receive a new cookie, or to delete or disable cookies altogether. Some parts of our Services may not work for you if you disable cookies.

B. How We Use Cookies

We use cookie technology in various ways to help make it easier for you to use our Services. For example, we use cookies to remember you when you return to our website, identify you when you sign-in, authenticate your access, keep track of your in-app specified preferences or choices, tailor content to you or geographic region, display a personalized browsing history, and/or to provide specific technical support. We may also use cookies to gauge site usage, conduct research and diagnostics to improve the content we provide you, our products and services, and to help us analyze general web traffic. The cookies we use expire after they have fulfilled their purpose. Some cookies expire when you close your browser (i.e., session cookies) or after a set period of time (i.e., persistent cookies). The expiration time of cookies that are placed by third parties (explained below) is determined by the third party, not us.

C. Web Beacons

Web beacons (also known as web bugs, pixel tags or clear GIFs) are tiny graphics with a unique identifier that may be included on our Services for several purposes, including to deliver or communicate with cookies, to track and measure the performance of our Services, to monitor how many visitors view our Services, and to monitor the effectiveness of our advertising. Unlike cookies, which are stored on the user’s hard drive, web beacons are typically embedded invisibly on web pages (or in an e-mail).

D. Do Not Track

While our website and the KEYCO app at this time do not recognize automated browser signals regarding tracking mechanisms, such as "do not track" instructions, you can generally express your privacy preferences regarding the use of most cookies and similar technologies through your web browser, as indicated in A & B above.

E. Using the Remarketing or “Similar target groups” function of Google Inc.

The supplier uses the Remarketing or “Similar target groups” function of Google Inc. (“Google”) on the website. The supplier can use this function to specifically approach the visitors of this website with advertisements by running personalised, interest-related advertisements for visitors of the supplier’s website if they visit other websites in the Google Display network. Google uses so-called cookies for analysing the website usage, which forms the basis for developing the interest-related advertisements. For this, Google saves a small file with a numerical sequence on the browsers of the website’s visitors. This number is used to record the visits to the website as well as anonymised data about the website usage. Personal data of the website’s visitors is not saved. If you subsequently visit another website in the Google Display network, pop-ups are displayed to you, which are likely to take into account previously accessed product and information fields. You can permanently deactivate the use of cookies by Google by following the link given below and downloading and installing the plug-in provided there: https://www.google.com/settings/ads/plugin?hl=de

Alternatively, you can deactivate the use of cookies by third=party suppliers by calling the deactivating site of the network advertising initiative on http://www.networkadvertising.org/choices/ and implementing the additional information for Opt-Out mentioned there. Additional information regarding Google Remarketing as well as the data protection declaration of Google can be viewed on: http://www.google.com/privacy/ads/

D: Using Facebook Remarketing

The provider uses the “Custom Audiences” remarketing function of Facebook Inc., 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA ("Facebook") on the website. The provider can use this function to provide targeted advertising. This provides visitors to the website with personalised Facebook ads which are tailored to their interests when they visit the Facebook social networking site. To run the function, the Facebook remarketing tab is implemented on the provider’s website.

This tag establishes a direct connection to the Facebook server when visiting the website. In doing so, the Facebook server is informed about which of our web pages you have visited. Facebook assign this information to your personal Facebook user account. Further information on the data collected and used by Facebook, your rights and privacy can be found in Facebook’s privacy policy: https://www.facebook.com/about/privacy/. If you do not want Facebook to directly assign the information collected to your Facebook user account, you can disable the “Custom Audiences” remarketing function here. You must be logged in to Facebook to do this.

3. Third Party Services

Sometimes KEYCO may use third party services. These outside services may also collect Personal Information about you and your online activities.

They may also place cookies on your computer's hard drive or your mobile device's memory or use web beacons to collect or receive information from the Services and elsewhere on the internet and use that information to provide analytics and to target ads. The information practices of these outside services are not covered by this Privacy Policy. We cannot access, nor do we have any control over, the cookies or other web technologies they may use.

A. Web Analysis Services

We may use third party web analysis services to gather non-identifying information to measure how customers in aggregate interact with our website. These services may use cookies or other web technologies to collect usage information, matched to an IP address, to help us analyze how our users use our website and some portions of the KEYCO app. We collect this information in order to improve overall experience of our Services for our users. These outside services may also collect information about your use of other websites over time. Since we do not link any Personal Information that you provide to us within the app to the information we store within the third party analytics software, this additional information is only analyzed in a way that cannot identify you.

B. Use of Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service by Google Inc. („Google“). Google Analytics uses so-called “cookies”, text files, which are saved on your computer and which allow analysing the use of the website by you. The information generated by the cookie about your usage of this website is generally transferred to a Google server in USA and saved there. If IP anonymisation is activated on this website, your IP address is however abbreviated by Google in advance within the member states of the European Union or in other contracting states of the Treaty on the European Economic Area. The complete IP address is transferred to a Google server in USA and abbreviated there only in exceptional cases. Google shall use this information on behalf of the operator of this website to evaluate your website use, to compile reports about the website activities and to provide additional services associated with the website use and Internet use as against the website operator. The IP address transferred from your browser within the scope of Google Analytics is not consolidated with the other data by Google. You can prevent cookies from being saved through a corresponding setting of your browser software; however, we would like to bring to your attention that you may not be able to use all the functions of this website entirely in this case. In addition, you can prevent the recording of data (including your IP address) generated by the cookie and based on your website use in Google as well as the processing of this data by Google by downloading the browser plug-in available on the following link and installing it [http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de].

C. Measurement Services and Ad Targeting

We may use tools offered by third party services, such as Facebook, to send data about actions users take on the Services. These third party services may use such data to provide measurement services to KEYCO or to target ads. You can opt out of the collection and use of information for ad targeting by going to http://www.aboutads.info/choices or http://www.youronlinechoices.eu/.

D. Using Google Adwords conversion tracking

We use the online advertising service “Google AdWords” and conversion tracking within the scope of Google AdWords. Google Conversion Tracking is an analysis service of Google Inc. (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA; “Google”). If you click an advertisement run by Google, a cookie for the conversion tracking is saved on your computer. These cookies have a limited validity, do not contain any personal data and thus do not help in personal identification. If you visit specific webpages of our website and the cookie has not yet expired, Google and we can identify that you have clicked on the advertisement and were forwarded to this page. Every Google AdWords customer receives a different cookie. Thus, there is no option that cookies can be tracked via the websites of AdWords customers. The information that is obtained with the help of the conversion cookie helps to generate conversion statistics for AdWords customers, who have decided on conversion tracking. Here, the customers find out about the total number of users who have clicked on their advertisement and were forwarded to a site provided with a conversion tracking tag. You however do not receive any information which can be used to identify users personally. If you do not wish to take part in the tracking, you can disagree to this use by not installing the cookies through a corresponding setting of your browser software (deactivation option). You are then not included in the conversion tracking statistics. For additional information as well as for the data protection declaration, please visit: http://www.google.de/policies/privacy/

E. Social Plugins and Social Widgets

We may use social plugins, widgets and other features (each, a “Social Feature”) that are made available by and/or access third party Social Networks. These Social Features allow these Social Networks to place cookies on your browser and to collect certain information, which may be associated with your name and personal Social Network account. These Social Features are operated solely by the respective Social Networks, and their service providers, and we recommend that you carefully read their privacy policies before you decide to use them. We have no control over or access to the information collected, stored or used by such Social Networks, and the information practices of such Social Networks are not covered by this Privacy Policy. If you do not wish to associate any information collected via the plugins, widgets and/or other features with your personal Social Network account information, you should refrain from using these Social Features and logout from your Social Network account before visiting our Services.

F. Use of Facebook plug-ins

This Internet site uses plug-ins of the social network facebook.com operated by Facebook Inc., 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA ("Facebook"). Whenever you display one of our Internet pages that hosts a Facebook plug-in you will be linked to the Facebook servers, a message is sent to your browser, and the plug-in is run on the Internet page. This is telling the Facebook server which of our pages you have visited. Assuming you are logged on to your Facebook member account while running the Facebook plug-in, Facebook will allocate the information to your personal Facebook user account. Further information collected and allocated by Facebook is the use of plug-in functions (like clicking on the Like button or posting a comment). To prevent this data collection and allocation, you must log off your Facebook user account before running the plug-in. If you do not wish Facebook to collect and directly allocate the above information to your Facebook profile, you will either have to log off from Facebook before visiting our site or run a "Facebook blocker" which stops the Facebook plug-ins from running on our pages. To learn more about the collection and use of your personal data by Facebook as well as about your rights and what options you have to protect your privacy, please read Facebook's Privacy Policy at: https://www.facebook.com/policy.php

Here, your IP address as well as the information, as to which of our Internet sites you have visited, is forwarded to the Google server. This is independent of whether you have registered with or are logged in on Google Plus. Data is transferred even in case of users who are not registered or logged in on these sites. The “+1” button is not used to record your visits on the Internet. When displaying a “+1” button, Google does not permanently log your browser history and also does not analyse your visit to a page with “+1” button in another manner. Google saves the data of your visit for about two weeks for system maintenance and troubleshooting purposes. However, this data is not structured as per the individual profiles, user names or URLs, and is also not forwarded to us.

For an overview of the different types of Google plugins, log on to:

https://developers.google.com/+/plugins

If you have made your profile publically accessible in the Google Plus settings, your “+1” can be superimposed by Google as information together with your profile names and your photo in Google services, e.g. in search results or in your Google profile, or at other places on websites and advertisements on the Internet. If you do not want Google to allocate the collected information directly to your Google Plus profile, you must first log out of Google Plus before visiting our site.
